Welcome to Molarky – The Story Behind the Rebrand

When I first dipped my toes into the creative waters of design, I launched my business under the name Intuitive Design UK. At the time, I wasn’t sure where I was heading—I just knew I wanted to create. The name felt like a safe umbrella, giving me space to explore a wide range of styles and collections without boxing myself in. It allowed room for growth and experimentation, and that’s exactly what happened.
As the months passed, I began to find my feet. I settled into my creative space, embraced my identity as a designer, and discovered what truly lights me up: colour, joy, and playful expression. I’ve experimented with different styles, but one constant has remained—my love for vibrant, energetic colour palettes that bring a smile and spark curiosity.
But as I got deeper into building the website, growing my collections, and showing up on social media daily, something started to feel off. The name Intuitive Design UK, while originally perfect for starting out, no longer felt like a fit. It was long, clunky, and didn’t quite reflect the energy of what I was creating—or me.
And so began the quest for a new name.

I spent months brainstorming, playing with words, designing mock logos, and testing out brand colours. It became a little obsession, always niggling at the back of my mind. I knew I wanted something short, catchy, and personal. I wanted to bring my name, my identity, my voice into the brand. But I also needed it to be open enough that if I decided to shift direction again (as creatives often do), I wouldn’t feel restricted.
Then, something magical happened.
On a sunny day out with friends—just chatting, walking, and soaking up the warmth—I mentioned the idea of renaming the business. I threw out a few names I’d been toying with, and without missing a beat, they both picked the same one: Molarky.
And just like that, the decision was made.
So, why “Molarky”?
The name is playful, quirky, and a little bit cheeky—just like my designs. It rolls off the tongue, makes people smile, and feels instantly memorable. Most importantly, it feels like me.
The new Molarky branding reflects everything I love about design: bold, clashing colours with a nostalgic retro vibe, balanced by a modern, funky twist. Every shade in the palette has meaning—joy, optimism, creativity, mysticism, uniqueness—and together, they tell a story that’s vibrant, expressive, and unapologetically fun.
Rebranding felt like a release. A way to realign with where I am right now creatively and emotionally. It grounded me. Of course, this might not be the final chapter—who knows what future versions of Molarky might look like? But I’ve always followed my heart in business, and right now, this feels absolutely right.
A New Range, A New Vibe
With a rebrand, I also felt ready to branch out from my original Hippy Happy collection. I wanted to create something completely different. During the holidays, I spent time with my 13-year-old granddaughter, and she inspired a whole new idea. I dreamed up a new range based on Chibi and started with a series of designs called “Love to Chat”—full of adorable, expressive characters that tap into the joy of conversation and connection. (Yes, there’s a definite link to my granddaughter!)
The new range drops as the rebrand launches!
