When I first dipped my toes into the creative waters of design, I launched my business under the name Intuitive Design UK. At that time, I wasn’t sure where I was heading—I just knew I wanted to create. The name felt like a safe umbrella, giving me space to explore various styles and collections. It allowed room for growth and experimentation, and that’s exactly what happened.
Discovering My Creative Identity
As the months passed, I began to find my feet. I settled into my creative space, embraced my identity as a designer, and discovered what truly lights me up: colour, joy, and playful expression. I’ve experimented with different styles, but one constant has remained—my love for vibrant, energetic colour palettes. These colours bring a smile and spark curiosity.
However, as I delved deeper into building the website, growing my collections, and engaging with my audience on social media, something began to feel off. The name Intuitive Design UK, while initially perfect for starting out, no longer felt like a fit. It was long and clunky. It didn't reflect my energy or creativity.
The Quest for a New Name
So began my quest for a new name. I spent months brainstorming, playing with words, and designing mock logos. It became a little obsession, always nagging at the back of my mind. I wanted something short, catchy, and personal. My aim was to incorporate my name, identity, and voice into the brand. Yet, it had to be open enough to accommodate any future creative directions.
Then, something magical happened.
A Moment of Inspiration
On a sunny day out with friends—just chatting and soaking up the warmth—I mentioned the idea of renaming my business. I casually threw out a few names I’d been contemplating, and without missing a beat, they both picked the same one: Molarky.
And just like that, the decision was made.
Why “Molarky”?
The name is playful, quirky, and a bit cheeky—just like my designs. It rolls off the tongue, makes people smile, and feels instantly memorable. Most importantly, it feels like me.
The new Molarky branding reflects everything I love about design: bold, clashing colours paired with a nostalgic retro vibe. This is balanced by a modern, funky twist. Every shade in the palette carries meaning—joy, optimism, creativity, mysticism, and uniqueness. Together, they tell a story that’s vibrant, expressive, and unapologetically fun.
Rebranding felt like a release, a way to realign with my current creative and emotional state. It grounded me. Of course, this might not be the final chapter in my story—who knows what future versions of Molarky might look like? But I’ve always followed my heart in business, and right now, this feels absolutely right.
A New Range, A New Vibe
With the rebrand, I felt ready to branch out from my original Hippy Happy collection. I wanted to create something entirely new. During the holidays, I spent time with my 13-year-old granddaughter, and she inspired a whole new idea. I envisioned a new range based on Chibi characters and started with a series called “Love to Chat.” This series is full of adorable, expressive characters tapping into the joy of conversation and connection. (Yes, there is a definite connection to my granddaughter!)
